About this talk

In this talk, I'm going to make the case that if you want to write better and more consistently, you cannot rely on inspiration alone. We'll review tools and tactics that work to seduce the muse, but first I'll make the case that you can do perfectly great work without her (and why you should!).

  • I'll introduce the "Creative Process Map" and show how, no matter how brilliant and talented you are, we are all subject to the same five stages of the creative process.
  • We'll examine where folks tend to get stuck every. single. time. (stages 4-6, or what I call, "creative purgatory")
  • We'll discuss proven ways to get unstuck, both from a scientific perspective and my own experience overseeing dozens of content creators and writers over the years in my programs (specifically, Ignition and my copywriting workshops).

Key takeaways: - How to know when to call it and when to push through. - The time-tested techniques experts use to get the words flowing again. - The three things you need to stay consistent and keep writing. - What you didn't know about the creative process that's keeping you stuck.

This is for you if you have pieces/content/writing you've been "meaning" to get to (but never do) or are inconsistent when it comes to writing/writing your content.
